Working with Dove Group: Building friendships

We’ve been working with Dove Group since August 2021 and in that time we’ve helped them to find seven new employees. 

As well as building a strong professional relationship, where we’re happy to advise Dove Group on a range of recruitment queries, we’ve also built a strong friendship. 

We chatted with Gregor Robson, Sales and Commercial Director to find out how he’s found working with us so far. 

Can you start by telling us about your company?

Dove Group is made up of five companies that supply Electric gates and barriers to both the domestic and commercial market, Industrial doors, garage doors and a large range of outdoor living solutions.

We’ve now got a team of 72 who are split between our office, warehouse, and display centre. All in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire. 

In my role as Sales and Commercial Director, I’m responsible for our sales and also contribute to the group strategy. Previous to working for the Dove group I spent over 25 years in Banking and Finance.

How did you hear about Exceda? 

We were referred to Nikki by our accountant Carl Elsby as we needed to recruit someone for our sales team; this is an area with which Nikki has a lot of experience in. 

Since then we’ve worked with Exceda to source three people in our web team, two more in sales, and two fitters. 

What was the beginning of your engagement with Exceda like? 

Since we first met Nikki in August 2021 we’ve really got to know each other. We communicate regularly and have built up such a rapport that Nikki now understands what I’m looking for and always spends a bit of extra care thinking about cultural fit as well as the role. 

She’s always happy to look at anything and I’m genuinely delighted by the people she’s found for us. 

What have the results been since working with Exceda?

In the last 18 months, Nikki has helped us find new recruits who now make up about 10% of our workforce. They’re a good cultural fit and we are really pleased. 

What did you think of the quality of service provided by Exceda?

Nikki is great at communicating and I’ve had nothing but great feedback from our candidates.

Do you have plans to work with Exceda in the future?

Of course! We’re going through a lot of transition at the moment and this will no doubt produce opportunities for further recruitment. 

Nikki is the only port of call really. Nikki promoted herself as recruitment with a difference and she has proved to be that and more.
